If they took the entertainment away in your church would you still follow Jesus?
Is ALL that thrills your soul found in Jesus and Him alone? Most who attend modern church in North America are drawn by the latest fads that secular strategists who have a religious bent recommend to ‘get a crowd.” Lively music, dazzling children’s programs, “cool” platform personalities, and stand up “PG” rated comedians are employed as draws to attract unregenerate people to amalgamate with church.
But is ALL that thrills your soul Jesus? Ask yourself the question, if they took the music, entertainment and “hip” communicators away in my church, would I still be a devoted follower of Christ? If not, perhaps you may find yourself going back to your sin and the world like those in John 6 once “the meat and miracles’ are no longer provided.
