Martyn Lloyd – Jones Tenderly Caring for His Bethan
Shortly after becoming husband and wife, Bethan Lloyd – Jones became distressed over the condition of her soul under the searching preaching of her husband, Martyn. During those days, he gave her a copy of The Anxious Inquirer by John Angell James, which the Lord was pleased to use to the saving of her soul, From that soul distressing season, God gave this “bruised reed” peace and assurance in Christ.
By God’s kind providence, I found a copy of the Anxious Inquirer in an old book store in New England years ago. The grace encounter that Mrs. Lloyd – Jones experienced has given me every incentive to read this tonic of soul healing balm in the days ahead.
