But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.   ~ Matthew 12:36

In an hour of an unprecedented war of words, those who seek to exercise the grace of discretion in what they say and listen to, should also rethink the word LIKE on their Facebook news feed before they click it.

The same Lord Jesus Christ Who said, “For the Father judges no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son,” has also gone on record to say, “… every idle (emphasis mine) word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgment. ….” Interestingly, that word “idle” means careless. Therefore, can anyone overlook the relevant implication that by clicking the word LIKE they too will also be called into account?

Much of what some believers approve of in their use of that word LIKE on Facebook is an affront to God. Because even Christians have such an insatiable appetite for approval by their peers, they mindlessly click LIKE whether they have thoroughly read their friend’s post or not.

Let me appeal to all Facebook participants to exercise caution before you affirm any post. For in the process of insuring your acceptance with a friend, you may be forfeiting your fellowship with the greatest Friend of all.
